WAYS FOR SHY PEOPLE TO HAVE AN AMAZING TIME AT A CONVENTION

Believe it or not a lot of people who attend conventions are shy or have been shy in the past. In fact if you like anime there is a good chance that you have probably used it as an escape at some point from life and people. When you go to a convention you basically find your tribe of people who are just like you.

If you are shy and you want to have fun at an anime convention, comic convention, book convention or pretty much any convention, here are 7 ways for you to overcome that fear so that you can have a great experience at a convention.

GO WITH A FRIEND

It is much harder for shy people to break out of their shell if they go to a convention alone. Going with a friend will give you a safety net to depend on and you can get to share an experience with someone.

ATTEND PANELS

You can escape the crowds in a convention and attend panels. The great thing about conventions is that they offer so many different things for different people. If you don't like crowds or hanging outside the convention then attend panels where you can sit quietly and just enjoy other people talking about topics that you are interested in.

GO TO ANIME VIEWING ROOMS

If you are going to an anime convention most likely there will be an anime viewing room. You can easily sit in the back and you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. A lot of people actually go and watch anime at conventions.

DRESS IN COSPLAY

If you are dressed in costume you get to pretend that you are someone other than yourself. You can hide yourself and people will respond to your character rather than you and you may even get compliments for your cosplay.

DISTRACT YOURSELF WITH THE THINGS YOU CAN BUY AT A CONVENTION

Who cares about crowds when there are lots of plush toys, anime figures and more for you to goggle your eyes at and surround yourself with.

GO TO THE MANGA LIBRARY

Some conventions have manga libraries with every manga you can possibly dream of and you can stay away from crowds and go there to read them.

GO TO THE GAMING ROOM

Some conventions have gaming rooms where you can go to play video games. You can go there and spend your time gaming with minimal talking.

I want you to believe that there is something for everyone at a convention whether you are shy, you are confident or you are a mix in between. Also conventions have been known to weaken the shy side of people and bring out some confidence because you are surrounded by people who are exactly like yourself.
